If you are wanting a simple email system, Aweber may be a good way to go. They boast as being #1 in email deliverability.
I have personally used Aweber since 2013 for list building and sending email and have found it very user friendly.
Access Ally is a membership program that many of my clients have used. It’s easy to use, integrates with WordPress and is very customizable. It allows for recurring membership subscriptions, gamification inside your programs and integrates with several different CRM software options.
ConvertKit is a great tool for emailing your customers, creating landing pages and much more.
It has a free package for up to 1,000 subscribers which makes it a nice program for people that are just beginning to create a email subscriber list.
